Deer Valley

The Deer Valley course is on of my favorites. Some nasty service road climbs to start the race followed by winding single track. Saturday morning: raining and cold. I decided not make the journey to Park City. As the start time approached I had mixed feelings about my decision. The phone chimed in, start delayed. I could still make it if I left now. A few minutes later, race postponed.

The second try wasn't much better than the first, mother nature just didn't want to cooperate. Tried warming up but it was freezing cold. Most of us ended up huddled around anything to block the wind and blowing rain waiting for the kids race to finish. Shivering at the starting line Ed announced we had some of the worlds best racing in the pro class. Cannondale was having meetings and some of their European riders were in town. The race was shortened due to weather but it hurt all the same. Good thing though, soon after finishing the temperature dropped and the rain started.
