Thursday, as in tomorrow, is Ride Like a Girl. So guys, send the women in your life, with their bikes and helmets to Mad Dog Cycles in Orem. If you are a girl, come along and bring your girlfriends. We will meet at 5:30 and then head to a trail. I am thinking we will hit the old race course, but if it rains/snows a bunch today, we may do Bonneville (Extreme South).
Also, all are invited to join us again next Thursday (April 8th) for a guided ride. Bring anyone you know who rides a mountain bike. The tentative plan is to ride the trails above Timpanogos Park in Provo Canyon. The meeting time is again 5:30 pm at Mad Dog Cycles in Orem.

Red Rock Rampage
The first ICUP race was a blast! For many of us it was like a family reunion. We haven't been together as a team since The 24 Hours of Moab last fall. After the how are you's and good to see you's it was time to concentrate on the race. The true test of how well each of us did during the winter months. The starting line is an interesting place. We're only there for a few minutes but they can seem like an eternity. It's another chance to catch up with friends, talk trash and an attempt to size up the competition. Questions start to enter you mind as you're reminiscing waiting for the gun. Are last season's fast guys still going to be fast? How will these new faces perform? Then it starts, the nervousness disappears and those questions will soon be answered. When the race is over it's over. The fast guys win and the rest of us judge ourselves on how well we did. It isn't necessarily a matter of winning or loosing but evaluating our performance based on our expectations. After all, we do this because we like it. It brings us happiness and offers a since of satisfaction and togetherness.

Training Clinic
Daylight savings is upon us, which means we can ride later and longer into the night. The Road Team will start holding training clinics Tuesday nights at 6 pm. at the Orem Mad Dog Cycles. Sessions will last about an hour and cover skills like drafting, cornering, lead outs, bumping (yes I'm scared too), hand ups and pace lines. If dirt is more your style, hold tight. The Mountain Team will have group rides and Ride Like a Girl for the ladies. This is a great chance to discover local trials and meet new people.
