Meeting Time and Location: Saturday June 5th 8:00 a.m. Pine Hollow Trailhead up American Fork Canyon.
Logistical Considerations: Please car-pool to the trailhead to limit unnecessary congestion. The booth will be notified of the volunteer project. Please let them know that you are there for the National Trails Day event and they will waive your fee for the time you are working on the project. This will only apply to those vehicles parked at Pine Hollow trailhead and Salamander Flat. We will be working close to the trailheads from either end so bringing bikes is not necessary.
Project Description: We will be working on the lower section of the Pine Hollow Trail. Once we meet we will break off into two main groups. One group will start at the bottom of the trail and work up, the other half will go to Salamander Flat and work down. We will be focusing on brushing, tread work (to remove slough and berm and fill in ditching tread) and drainage. Ultimately we will end up with two brushing crews and two tread crews.
Please come prepared with: Long pants, long sleeve shirt, leather gloves, sturdy closed toe shoes, sunglasses (for eye protection) water and snacks. If you have loppers or hand saws you may want to bring them.
